Etain McNulty -
Background

  • I studied at the Anglo European College of Therapeutic Hypnosis where I was awarded with a Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma.

  • I also have a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy. My training included a 10 month diploma course from a college that is known for some of the most rigorous standards in hypnotherapy training in the UK.

  • I also hold an Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner Diploma. My Hypnotherapy training focused on the value of evidence-based techniques within practice and this has remained an important component of the way I work. This means that certain techniques, such as regression are not used within my own practice due to ongoing commitment  to client welfare.

  • I am also a qualified and certified Breathwork Facilitator. This practice enables me to help clients to use their breath to change how they are feeling in the moment.

  • My CPD (Continued Professional Development) has included courses in understanding the mechanisms underlying Anxiety and Trauma. This also includes courses in Developing Self Assertion, Effective Communicating and Working with Shame.

  • I also hold a Certificate in Coaching.

Background and Influences...

  • My background includes a BA Hons Degree in Philosophy and Politics, and a Masters Degree in International Political Development.

  • Since my Honors Degree, I have maintained a steady interest in Philosophy and Psychology, and particularly in the role played by the mind in generating our experience of life. I am constantly studying and improving upon what I know and the way I practice.

  • My approach to Hypnotherapy is heavily influenced by the contributions of Marsha Linehan and her outstanding work in the field of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Influences on my work also include Aaron T Beck and his impact on Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Further influences include the highly esteemed research of Joseph LeDoux around anxiety and the way this is produced in the brain and body.

  • My particular interest lies in helping clients let go and move away from difficult relationships and painful breakups which have caused distress and difficulty in their lives.
